Student Scholarships

Since 1997, more than 150 talented students at the universities of Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, and Sibiu received partial scholarships of €250 to €300 per semester. Brașov is a major city with 300,000 inhabitants, where students have opportunities to work part-time alongside their studies because many European companies including Braxx, Rosner, and Escada are based there. However, most students moved abroad after graduating, for example to the United States or Spain. We therefore discontinued the scholarship program and shifted our focus to vocational schools in the hope of tackling the cycle of poverty more effectively at the local level, as their graduates can help drive change in their communities.
