Donations in Kind
Our annual collection campaign for donations in kind for adults, children, and babies usually takes place from April to August in Holzkirchen and the Tegernsee valley. Our supporters organize an aid goods transport that brings all donations in kind to Romania once a year. The distribution of your donations in kind on site is then carried out by the Lions Club Schäßburg and Anika Zegheru.
What we collect:
Clothing up to size L, shoes, bedding, blankets, mattresses, orthopedic aids, hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, glasses, school desks and chairs, toys, bicycles, baby carriages, etc.
What we do not collect:
Porcelain, books and games with German text, underwear, unreasonably worn, damaged or soiled clothing.
It is important that you sort clothes by gender and size, for example, and pack them in banana boxes, which you can get for free at supermarkets and wholesale stores. This has proven to be the most effective packaging for donations in kind over the years in terms of collection, transport and distribution, and can be ideally carried/stacked by everyone involved. Place a brief keyword index of your donation (e.g. women's summer clothing size 36-38) and your name on top of the banana box - this makes it easier for us to write a transport list that we need for the border crossing.
If you are unable to find a banana box, please feel free to contact us. This year, the warehouses are located in Rottach-Egern and Holzkirchen. Of course, we also gratefully accept donations in kind from outside the Holzkirchen-Tegernsee area if a realistic solution can be found together.
