Cooperation with Perspective Danes

After the school we had renovated in Rora was unexpectedly closed by the town authorities in spring 2018, the children could only attend school in the neighboring municipality of Daneș because we finance the private school bus. There, they are now divided into age-appropriate classes. In cooperation with the Lions Club Sighișoara and the aid organization Perspective Daneș, the local community center continues to provide a hot lunch every day, along with homework support, fun, and games, all supervised by a team of young social workers. Over the years, Liviu from Perspective Daneș has become an essential partner in providing targeted support to the children in Rora. He knows the families there better than almost anyone.

Our ambitious goal is for every child in the program to learn to read and write and remain in school until graduation, as education has proven over the decades to offer the best chance of breaking the cycle of poverty. Unfortunately, this cannot be taken for granted: these children come from neglected, unloving, and often violent environments, while their parents are illiterate and overwhelmed. Attending school is a privilege for these children, and they are grateful to us and to you for making it possible.
