Municipal Kindergarten Renovation
In October 2014, we financed the renovation and partial refurbishment of a daycare center for around 28 to 30 children. It is a state-run nursery for children aged one to three. Places are allocated according to social criteria: the poorer a family is, the more likely it is to receive a place, and low-income families also pay lower fees than wealthier ones.
The town had already invested in the facility before we became involved, but not enough. We therefore took over the project and, in consultation with the Lions Club Sighișoara and the nursery teachers, drew up a list of the necessary renovations and missing equipment. In doing so, we also helped make it possible for parents to go to work. Direct support for this project has since ended because it developed well in line with the principle of helping people to help themselves, and it always appeared exceptionally well maintained and clean during our inspection visits.
